Silent H – 1968 Ford Mustang GT 350 Hertz

Like many of the 1966 Shelby Mustangs, this 1968 GT 350 was first sold to the Hertz rental car company. Unlike the ’66 models, though, they didn’t put an “H” on its side. For this reason the Hertz Shelby Mustangs of ’67 and’68 are far less know than the gold timed ‘66s. It also means that it’s far harder to determine if one of the later cars is, in fact, a Hertz. The seller of this particular GT 350 indicates that this car is a genuine Hertz car and that all of the appropriate paperwork to prove as much accompanies the car. The seller also indicates that the car is a survivor with just 60,000 miles on the clock, matching numbers and all original parts. Photos show the car to be in excellent condition. So much so that we wonder if the car has been the subject of a restoration at some point in its history. The Lime Gold paint appears shiny without traces of rub-through. The bodywork and panels are straight and clean as is the interior. Most impressive is the engine compartment that shows an incredibly well detailed and clean 302. While not as beastly as the 428 powered GT 500s, ’68 GT 350s like this one offer comfortable and quick cruising in vintage Shelby style. Find it for sale here on eBay in Chesapeake, Virginia with the reserve not yet met at $50,000.
