Veteran ‘Vette – 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster

This Corvette Roadster has been a race car since all the way back in 1972, and has the SCCA log books to prove it. More recently, it has been raced with SVRA at events in the Northeast, the last of which being the Lime Rock Historic Festival in September of last year.

This Corvette racer was restored and had the engine rebuilt during 2009 and 2010, and competition bits include a Barnes dry sump, Holley 750 CFM carburetor, Hooker headers and side pipes, American Racing 15×8 aluminum wheels, disc brakes, removal steering wheel, Jaz fuel cell, braided fuel lines, Griffin aluminum radiator, heavy duty aluminum oil cooler, triple disc clutch and adjustable shocks. Dyno results for the engine have it putting out 411 horsepower and 408 lb/ft of torque. Being a seasoned racer, it should be pretty well sorted and competitive. Few would deny that Corvettes make both beautiful capable vintage racers, and this car seems as capable as any.
