SCD Private Collection – 1971 Porsche 911T

1971 Porsche 911T coupe

  • Originally delivered with Albert Blue on Black color combination
  • Solid rust-free driver quality
  • Utilizes later 2.7L engine with high-compression “S” pistons and Weber 40mm carburetors

“…Everyone knows the first break-up never takes,” comedian and Porsche enthusiast, Jerry Seinfeld once said. Never was there truer statement, as it turns out. This 1971 Porsche 911T Coupe left the Sports Car Digest stable several years ago, but when an opportunity presented to repurchase the car, we couldn’t resist.

Starting life as a basic 140hp 2.4L 911T, this car was later gifted a 2.7L from a later 911. The powerplant was modified using high-compression “S” pistons and fitted with Weber 40mm carburetors to further assist with motivation. The result is a quick, fast-revving 911 that produces memorable noises. Not unlike many 911s of the time, this model underwent a color change during the course of its life, emerging in the red color it is today. Sports Car Digest plans on returning our 911T back to its handsome original color of Albert Blue once we begin the process of rehabilitation.
